US Digital Trends : Online advertising going strong
Posted October 30th, 2008 by adminWeakness in other areas of the US economy appears to be dragging down overall ad spending slightly, though online advertising growth remains positive. A report from TNS Media Intelligence reveals that overall US advertising expenditures in the first six months this year were down 1.6% year-over-year. Ad spending during the second quarter of 2008 was off 3.7% versus last year.
In contrast, online display advertising spend increased 8% in the same period. The TNS Media Intelligence report anticipates marketers who are “being asked to do more with less” will continue to gravitate toward online advertising, which offers high measurability and cost-effectiveness.
